Cliff House
Since its initial construction as a modest restaurant made from driftwood in 1863, San Francisco's iconic Cliff House has had multiple incarnations. The building was destroyed by fire twice and repeatedly remodeled, the current structure dates from 1909 to 2003.
Imagining that a third cataclysmic fire has left nothing of the existing building except its concrete structure, an interpenetration center has been designed leading visitors through the history of the site, ending at the expansive ocean view restaurant.
